Circumspecte

Yesterday the Black Stars kicked expectations and skepticism to the curb in what was perceived by many football pundits as being "an uphill challenge" against Egypt's multiple-time WC qualifier The Pharaohs. The words being used to describe what Ghana did to Egypt include "thrashed" , "crushed" and "run a riot" . But to me, this game was one of the most beautiful shows of leg action the Ghanaian National team has exhibited in a long time. It's so beautiful, I had to share. Congrats again to the Black Stars and Coach Kwasi Appiah - who also showed some of his detractors, ha! - and all the best as we chart our course to Brazil 2014 (and avenge the WC finale we were Suarezed out of :P)! You make Ghana proud! After all is said and done, even the Pharaohs looked up to the Stars ;)

It tells the story of some young Muslims and their dog who came upon a cave when fleeing their enemies. Allah caused them to fall into a deep slumber, sealed the cave and saved them from their pursuers. When they awoke they wondered how long they had been asleep, and God commanded them to go into town to find out. They literally woke up in another time/era, the exact of which remains unknown to all but Allah. Why I like it? I can't pinpoint one thing. Scale of Preference: Water Vs. Oil? The idea of economics being a social science is no novelty and even though the notion dates back as far as the era of Adam Smith and the other fathers of economics, it still holds true today. It would seem that every being, society or entity is forever in the pursuit of that elusive – or to put it in economic terms, scarce – something. For some select countries like the United States, that elusive or increasingly scarce thing is oil. For most of the world however, and particularly the impoverished world, that commodity is oil's arch-rival, water . Nothing lasts forever and that applies especially to natural resources that tend to be used up with no thought of their replenishment. The world literally goes crazy because of this commodity oil.
